AAUW to Host Public Screening of The Invisible War

The Anne Arundel County Branch of the American Association of University Women will host a public screening of the documentary The Invisible War on Wednesday, April 17, at 7:00 p.m. The event will take place at Our Shepherd Luthern Church, 400 Benfield Road Severna Park.. Nominated for an Academy Award, The Invisible War is a documentary about rape within our US military. Today a female soldier in Iraq and Afghanistan is more likely to be raped by a fellow soldier than killed by enemy fire with the number of assaults in the last decade alone in the hundreds of thousands.

After the screening, Beth Scott, Regulatory Affairs Manager at AAUW, will discuss AAUW’s support of many of the plaintiffs featured in the film and its Capitol Hill advocacy on the issue.
