Fall Festivities Around Severna Park

Patch runs down great frugal fun for everyone in the family with these local fall festivals and events.

*Today (Oct. 1): Severna Park's , Severna Park Community Center, Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard, fun starts at 10 a.m.

1. – Fall Celebration

Each weekend in October, Gary’s has a moonbounce for the little ones and this year it’s FREE.  Other arts and crafts activities, such as pumpkin painting are available depending on the weather.  Call the store for details.

2. - Fall Festival

This annual favorite includes blacksmith and sawmill demonstrations, scarecrow building and more.  Fees apply for festival events and vendor merchandise, but families are free to enter the park, peruse the brand new Visitors Center, and see the demonstrations and animals for free.

When:  Oct. 8, 2011, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m

 

3. Papa John’s Farm – Pick a Pumpkin

Pony rides and hay rides on Saturdays and Sundays, from 11 a.m. to 4: p.m. 

$7.75 per person, which includes pumpkin.  Kids under two are free.

Good Through:  Weekends from Oct. 8, 2011 to Oct 30, 2011

 

4. Fall Festival

Although the website doesn’t specify this, there is a $11/person entry fee.  However, the 40 minute drive to Lothian and the price are well worth it.  The kids will be entertained all day with an amazing corn pit (instead of a sandbox), an underground slide, hayrides, pumpkin picking, cow trains, face painting, and jumping pillows (new this year).

5. Maryland Sunrise Farms - Pioneer Spirit Corn Maze

A short drive to Gambrills gets you a fun day with a custom built corn maze and other fall festivities.  Check website for pricing and details.

Good Through:  Columbus Day, Oct. 10, 2011 and weekends through Nov. 6, 2011
