Local Singers Invite You to a FREE Evening of Quality Entertainment
Free local concert by Harbor City Music Company Show Chorus as they prepare for Regional Competition at Hershey Pa in early April.
Join Harbor City Music Company Show Chorus (HCMC) as they present a FREE “send-off” concert for their family and friends on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 beginning at 8:00 p.m. at the Severna Park Elks Lodge (160 Truck House Road, Severna Park, MD 21146). The 8th place, audience favorite International Award-winning group will be showcasing their upcoming competition numbers as they ready for evaluation judging in Hershey, Pennsylvania the first week in April. The group will then be competing in Las Vegas in October 2017.
In addition to the chorus performing, HCMC quartets will also be using this as an opportunity to present their competition numbers for regional contest. The chorus is delighted and honored to be showcasing their talented members and are proud to announce that HCMC will be represented by 36 individuals or 9 quartets singing in the 2017 contest. 25 of our members will sing in quartets at the Friends and Family performance
Lustre Quartet, comprised of HCMC members: Lori Crouter (Reisterstown), Lori Dreyer (Catonsville), Jenny Harris (Catonsville) and Kate Morrical (Rockville) placed third in the world at International. As a result, they don’t have to compete at regional, but, WILL be singing for the audience this Wednesday evening to continue to hone their skills. Lustre just won the Mid-Atlantic Harmony Sweepstakes Festival, and were named the Champions and Audience Favorite. They will be competing in San Francisco in the near future.

Neon Lights, a quartet formed in 2016, won the International Novice Quartet Award in their first competition in Las Vegas. They will also be performing at the HCMC Friends and Family event. This group is comprised of Marianna Gellert (Severna Park), Lainey Davy (Arnold), Ashley Conway (Essex) and Kayla Ressler (Lancaster, PA)
Another award-winning quartet performing for us on March 29th is a group called The Famous Janes (you’ll have to ask them about their name). This quartet, all members of HCMC, are: Amanda Clements (Alexandria, VA), Jen Kuethe (Millersville), Kate Mannherz (Baltimore) and Sue Taylor (Abingdon).

Mix It Up! quartet got together in 2014 and love every minute of singing together. They won Novice Quartet at the regional competition in 2016. This group is comprised of Ericka McLeod (Odenton), Angel Kidwell (Pasadena), Amy Kinder (Annapolis) and Natalie McIntyre (Annapolis).
Two additional newly formed HCMC quartets will be introduced to the public at our Family and Friends concert. All three quartet members are part of the HCMC chorus.

HCMC member, Sarah Nainan-Neward (Ijamsville) will also be singing with her quartet, Sound Design, who has members from other choruses in the region.
It’s an evening designed to entertain, share with the audience the love of a cappella, contemporary barbershop music and as well as provide a supportive audience for our competing members, recognizing their many long, hard, fun hours of rehearsal! Harbor City Music Company consists of 80+ members from all over the state of Maryland, Delaware and Virginia and is a chapter of Sweet Adelines International, an organization with chorus located throughout the United States and in 14 nations throughout the globe. The group rehearses at the Severna Park Elks Lodge, 160 Truck House Road, Severna Park, MD 21146, on Wednesday nights at 7:25 p.m. If you want to give it a try, they are having a special Christmas Chorus beginning in November and are inviting guests to come join in the fun!
HCMC performs regularly throughout the community, offering its talent as entertainment for corporate organizations, civic events and non-profit groups. HCMC has performed at the Mormon Temple, the Maryland State House, Oriole’s baseball games and more.
