Massage Envy's Linda Sturmer Named 2011 AFC Regional Therapist of the Year

Linda Sturmer was named Massage Envy 2011 Regional Therapist of the Year for the Maryland, Washington, D.C. and Virgina area. A massage therapist for seven years, Sturmer has been with the Severna Park Massage Envy for the past two years.

Sturmer previously worked as an officer manager in a doctor’s office for 18 years before she decided to attend Anne Arundel Community college to study massage therapy.

“The most fulfilling thing about my jobs is when my client comes out of the room and you can see that you’ve relieved their pain. You’ve relaxed them. It’s amazing when you realize and really know that you’ve helped somebody,” Sturmer said, noting that the job can be physically demanding as she regularly does six to seven massages a day.  

 “Linda is one of our most-requested therapists and that is not only reflective of her skills as a massage therapist, but because she is so sincere. She truly wants to help each individual client," said Lisa Shive, clinical administrator for Massage Envy.

Sturmer is awaiting her credentials to offer hot stone therapy as well as prenatal massages. In the meantime, Sturmer will get to enjoy a relaxing trip of her own when she goes to Arizona to be recognized as one of the top therapists for Massage Envy/Massage Envy Spa.

 “Linda’s kind, dependable and helpful nature makes her such a valuable massage therapist at our clinic. She always has a good attitude and is the essence of a team player," said Joann Hess, owner of the Severna Park location.

 The Severna Park Massage Envy has 1700+ members and currently has 35 massage therapists and three estheticians that offer facials.
