PAULA REEDER RECEIVES PRESTIGIOUS MARYLAND ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS PRESIDENT'S AWARD

Champion Associate Broker Paula Reeder is the Maryland Association of Realtor’s choice for the 2015 President’s Award for Outstanding Service and Dedication.

MAR’s outgoing president, Janice Kirkner, chose Reeder out of 22,000 Realtors for the award in recognition of her service as the chairman of the association’s legislative committee and to acknowledge her many other accomplishments. It is the job of the committee to interpret proposed legislation affecting the Maryland market and recommend responses. Over 100 pieces of legislation crossed committee desks during the 2014 - 2015 session.

“I’m humbled and delighted,” said Reeder, who works out of Champion’s Chestertown office. “We had a busy and productive year. It’s an extraordinarily dedicated group of people which gathers weekly to review and respond to legislation as it relates to and impacts our business. We were very successful in securing passage of laws that were helpful, and defeating bills that would have been deleterious to our business.”

“Paula is very good at keeping up with what’s happening in the state of Maryland,” said Patsy Whiteley, manager of the Chestertown office. “She is well-respected by other agents in the area.”

Reeder is wrapping up her one-year term as chairman but will continue to monitor movement at the Maryland State House. She will chair the legislative committee for the Bay Area Association of Realtors, which watches legislation affecting Kent, Queen Anne and Caroline Counties.
