SPark Field Hockey Club Finds Success at National Level
SPark Field Hockey Succeeds at National Level
SPark Field Hockey Club, proudly announces 12 players were selected to compete in the 2015 National Futures Championship and 4 players were selected to the National Elite Championship. The selections were made thru the USA Field Hockey Futures Program established in 1990 to develop the top athletes in each region, identifying the most talented athletes in the nation, and cultivating the Olympic athletes of tomorrow. Over 5,000 Futures athletes undergo elite-level training to improve their skills and develop a tactical understanding of the game. At the conclusion of the program, each of the 9 Futures regions conducts a Regional Tournament where the top 680 athletes are selected to the National Futures Championship. From the National Futures Championship, athletes were selected to various other elite programs.

U19 alternates: Regina Openshaw, Ellie Schepens, Alyssa Kessle
U16: Conner Allen
U16 alternates: Megan Borneman, Megan Brannen
U14: Mikayla Borneman, Sydney White
U14 alternates: Lila Slattery, Melanie Borneman
FUTURES ELITE CHAMPIONSHIP
The Futures Elite Championship consists of the top 72 athletes from the Futures Elite Program. Athletes from 4 teams went head to head in June in this tournament for the opportunity to be selected to the AAU Junior Olympics, Junior National Camp, and the following year’s Futures Elite Program.
