1 Person In Custody After Blair HS Put On Lockdown: Police

One person was taken into custody Thursday after Montgomery Blair High School was on lockdown in response to reports of an armed student.

SILVER SPRING, MD — One person was taken into custody on Thursday after Montgomery Blair High School was briefly placed on a lockdown following reports of a student with a gun, police said.

The Montgomery County Police Department said the school was secure as of 1:55 p.m., and that no gun was found on the school grounds.

"There is no current threat to the Blair campus," police said in an X post.

One person was detained but police did not specify why they were taken into custody.

No details were released indicating whether the individual was a student or if charges were pending in the incident.

Montgomery County police were first called to the school just before 1:30 p.m. for reports of an armed student.

The latest incident comes after the school was evacuated on Feb. 4 after a bomb threat, which was also cleared by officials.
