$25K Lottery Winner Credits 7-Eleven Clerk Who Helped Pick Numbers
A clerk at a Silver Spring 7-Eleven picked the last two numbers on a Maryland Lottery ticket that turned out to be worth $25,000.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Two numbers chosen by the clerk at a Silver Spring 7-Eleven helped a Montgomery County man win $25,000 from the Maryland Lottery, according to a release.
Although the winner is a regular Pick 4 and Pick 5 player, he tried strategy this time and used the Lottery mobile app to randomly select three numbers for his Pick 5 ticket.
“I picked three of the front numbers and I asked the guy at 7-Eleven to pick the last two numbers,” the winning player told Lottery officials.

The numbers chosen with this new method, 74786, turned out to be a 50-cent straight bet win in the Oct. 16 evening drawing.
The Lottery winner returned to 7-Eleven #11577 at 15539 New Hampshire Ave. in Silver Spring to claim a $400 prize on a separate Pick 5 box bet, which is when he informed the helpful clerk of his $25,000 win.

The Montgomery County man told Lottery officials that he was going to use his winnings to pay bills and purchase another motorcycle to add to his collection of bikes.
For selling the $25,000-winning Pick 5 ticket, the 7-Eleven in Silver Spring will receive a $250 bonus from the Lottery.
