61-Year-Old Pedestrian Struck, Killed In Silver Spring Crash: Police
A Silver Spring man died from injuries he received when he was struck by a car on New Hampshire Avenue Tuesday night.
SILVER SPRING, MD — Sidney Cardoso Sr., a 61-year-old Silver Spring resident, died from from injuries he received being struck by a car Tuesday night on New Hampshire Avenue.
Officers responded around 9:26 p.m., to New Hampshire Avenue and Bonifant Road for the report of a collision involving a pedestrian.
Cardoso was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for serious injuries, but he was later pronounced dead, according to police.

Investigators from MCDP's Crash Reconstruction Unit determined that Cardoso was in the roadway, when he was struck by a gray 2012 Toyota Prius traveling south on New Hampshire Avenue, south of Bonifant Road.
Detectives have not determined why Cardoso was in the roadway. The driver of the Prius remained on the scene.
