7-Year-Old Hit By School Bus: Reports

A child was hit by a school bus while crossing the street about 5 p.m. Thursday in Silver Spring.

Pete Piringer, spokesman for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services, said on Twitter that the accident happened in the 3500 block of Bel Pre Road.

The child was taken to an area hospital by ambulance with serious injuries that are believed to be non-life-threatening, Piringer said.

The victim is a 7-year-old boy, reports NBCWashington.
