MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — Authorities are carrying out a death investigation after a woman was found dead during a welfare check in Burtonsville over the weekend.
Montgomery County Police said the woman was found after officers were dispatched Saturday to the 3900 block of Blackburn Lane, shortly before 6:30 p.m.
Police did not detail who requested the welfare check or what may have prompted the request.
An autopsy by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will be carried out to determine the cause and manner of death.
An investigation into the case is ongoing.
