• 2 Displaced After House Fire Causes $300K In Damages: MCFRS (patch.com) — Silver Spring residents were forced from their townhouse after an early-morning deck fire caused an estimated $300,000 in damage, but working smoke alarms helped them escape unharmed. Montgomery County Fire and Rescue crews responded to Habersham Circle around 1:15 a.m. Saturday, and investigators are still working to determine what sparked the blaze.    

• Father, daughter charged with attempted first-degree murder in connection to Silver Spring stabbing (mymcmedia.org) — Montgomery County police say a father and daughter have been arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder and assault after a June 4 stabbing of their housemate on Stepping Stone Lane in Silver Spring. The pair were located in Rockville by U.S. Marshals and remain in custody while the victim recovers from chest stab wounds.    

• State Board of Elections Clears Jawando (montgomeryperspective.com) — Montgomery County Executive candidate and Council Member Will Jawando has been cleared by the State Board of Elections of allegations that his campaign illegally coordinated with the Working Families Party. A letter sent to his treasurer at a Silver Spring address says investigators found no evidence of improper communication or shared strategy, and the case is now closed with no further action planned.
