2. Silver Spring man charged with rape, assault in Takoma Park, police say (wusa9.com) — A man from Silver Spring has been charged with multiple serious offenses after police say an 18-year-old reported an assault that occurred at a Takoma Park residence. Officers first responded to White Oak Medical Center in Silver Spring, then later arrested the suspect at the Takoma Park Police Department. The case is now being handled through Montgomery County's central processing system.
3. FDA approves updated COVID vaccines. Here's what you need to know (abcnews.com) — Silver Spring gets a brief spotlight as home to the FDA offices that just approved updated 2026–27 COVID-19 vaccines from Moderna, Pfizer, and Sanofi. The shots target the XFG omicron variant and will roll out nationwide soon, with strong recommendations for older adults, people with certain health conditions, pregnant patients, and very young children.
4.
