Medicaid by billing for children's mental health telehealth sessions that were exaggerated or never happened. Prosecutors say he claimed more than 700 hours of services while phone records showed only minutes of contact, leading to over $250,000 in losses before investigators and an undercover FBI operation exposed the scheme.
• Woman who scammed federal worker out of $400,000 sentenced to 15 years in prison (wtop.com) — A D.C. woman has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for scamming a man she met online, who later let her move into his Silver Spring home. Prosecutors say she persuaded him to borrow heavily and invest over $400,000 in a fake stock scheme, then spent the money on gambling and luxury purchases before being convicted of multiple fraud charges.
