• Woman who scammed federal worker out of $400,000 sentenced to 15 years in prison (wtop.com) — A D.C. woman has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for scamming a man she met online, who later let her move into his Silver Spring home. Prosecutors say she persuaded him to borrow heavily and invest over $400,000 in a fake stock scheme, then spent the money on gambling and luxury purchases before being convicted of multiple fraud charges.
