Armed Robbery Suspect Leaves Silver Spring Restaurant Without Any Cash
Montgomery County Police released a video showing a man they say tried to rob a Silver Spring seafood restaurant at gunpoint on Dec. 7.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Montgomery County Police released a surveillance video Wednesday of a man they say attempted to rob a Silver Spring seafood restaurant at gunpoint on Dec. 7, according to a release. Police are asking the public's help in identifying the suspect.
Around 7:28 p.m., officers responded to Karen’s Seafood located at 13843 Outlet Drive for the report of an attempted armed robbery.
A preliminary investigation revealed that an unknown man armed with a firearm entered the restaurant. The man approached multiple patrons and demand money from them, but they failed comply. The man then approached an employee at the cast register, but for some reason he fled the scene without obtaining any money, according to the report.

Police described the suspect as a Black man, standing 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10 and weighing 180-200 pounds. He was wearing a black man and black hooded coat, dark shoes, and black pants with white stripes. He was also carrying a gray backpack and a firearm.
Anyone who recognizes the man in the video or who has information about this case is asked to call the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070 or 240-773-TIPS. Anonymous tips can also be made by calling Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of the suspect in this case.
