Attempted Christmas Burglary At Silver Spring Preschool Investigated

Montgomery County Police are investigating an attempted burglary Christmas night at a Silver Spring preschool.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Montgomery County Police detectives released photos Thursday of a man and vehicle they say were involved in an attempted burglary at a Silver Spring preschool on Christmas, according to a release.

Officers responded around 2:42 p.m., on Dec. 27, for the report of an attempted burglary at the Shomrai Emunah Preschool located at 813 University Blvd. West.

Through their investigation, detectives determined that a man arrived at the preschool around 8:12 p.m., on Dec. 25 in a Silver Acura sedan. After trying to force his way into the building, the man drove off in the car he arrived in, according to police.

Police described the man as being of average height and build, with short black hair. He was wearing a white face mask, a black jacket, a black shirt, black jeans, and black/white shoes.

Anyone who recognizes the man or car in the surveillance photos or who has information about this case is asked to call the 4th District Investigative Section at 240-773-5530 or 240-773-TIPS. Callers may also contact Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of the suspect in this case, according to police. Callers do not need to identify themselves.
