But the release sent out by state officials on Wednesday gave the wrong location, officials said Thursday.

The Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration is continuing with its $12.6 million repair work on I-95/I-495 (Capital Beltway) between the I-94/I-495 split to MD 212, including the interchanges.
Weather and progress permitting, the four-mile project should be completed in late fall.

Beginning Thursday night at 9 p.m., crews will close two lanes of I-95/I-495 for resurfacing. Crews will patch the roadway, remove the top layer of asphalt, apply new asphalt and install new pavement markings within the project limits.
Crews may close one lane in either direction on the Capital Beltway weekdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and two lanes Sundays through Thursdays from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. More than 260,000 vehicles approach this section of roadway each day so drivers should plan extra travel time, highway officials said.
To keep crews and drivers safe during the work, the College Park weigh station and park and ride lot will close each night, Sundays through Thursdays, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Drivers should consider using MD 212 (Powder Mill Road) as an alternate during construction.
Drivers should make alternate overnight parking arrangements. Tractor trailer drivers are asked to use the Hyattstown, Frederick or Upper Marlboro weigh stations as overnight alternatives during all phases of reconstruction.
Preliminary work on the project began in April. Crews have completed storm water inlet construction to improve roadway drainage and are installing guardrail, patching the roadway and stabilizing roadway slopes.
