Body Found At Silver Spring Shooting Scene Identified By Police
Montgomery County Police identified a 20-year-old man as the victim of a homicide that occurred Nov. 9 in Silver Spring.
SILVER SPRING, MD — Montgomery County Police identified 20-year-old Edvin Moises Agustin Leon as the victim of a homicide that occurred Nov. 9 in Silver Spring, according to a police release.
While investigating a shooting that occurred in the 9000 block of Piney Branch Road, a police K9 officer discovered Leon's body in a nearby woods. Leon's body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, where an autopsy identified homicide as the cause of death.
Police had been called to the area around 5:56 p.m. for the report of a shooting. The officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a nearby hospital in serious but stable condition, according to police. It was during this investigation that Leon's body was discovered.
