Boy, 3 Men Charged In Attempted Silver Spring Home Invasion
Four people, including a 17-year-old boy, were arrested after trying to break into a Silver Spring home, police said.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Four people, including a 17-year-old, have been arrested in connection to a Jan. 23 attempted home invasion robbery in Silver Spring.
Montgomery County police said Friday that Kensington resident Innis Graham Sherper, 18, and Silver Spring residents Kalvin David Gomez, 17, Raie Tsehaye Debalkew, 20, and Frank Nicaise Kimbembe Jr, 19, were jailed on attempted home invasion charges. Gomez, they added, was charged as an adult.
On Jan. 23, police received a report about an attempted home invasion in the 400 block of Pershing Drive. The adult male resident told authorities that he was inside his home when he saw someone trying to break in through a basement window.

When officers arrived, they saw a vehicle speeding away. The tag on the vehicle, according to police, had been spray painted black to avoid detection.
Authorities said they stopped the fleeing vehicle and found a replica BB gun, duct tape, various tools, masks, and gloves. Marijuana was also recovered from the vehicle.

Police later determined that the suspects were trying to commit a home invasion robbery.
Sherper, Debalkew, Kimbembe are set to appear in Montgomery County District Court on Feb. 21. Gomez's preliminary hearing is on Feb. 7.
