Car Involved In Silver Spring Crash Was Stolen: Police
Police said a boy, who was a passenger in the stolen car, was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.
SILVER SPRING, MD — A car that was involved in a two-vehicle crash near downtown Silver Spring Thursday morning was stolen, according to Montgomery County police.
At about 7:18 a.m., police responded to the 300 block of Wayne Avenue for a report of a vehicle collision involving a 1999 Subaru Impreza SW and a 2016 Honda Pilot. When officers checked inside the Subaru, they found a boy suffering from traumatic injuries. At first, police said they thought he may have been shot.
"When we got here we found that the driver of the late model Subaru took off and left the guy in the back seat and (when) we were looking at the guy in the back seat (he appears to be) the victim of a shooting," Montgomery County spokesperson Capt. Thomas C. Jordan said, according to the Prince George's Sentinel.
