Carjackers Threaten to 'Pop' BMW Driver: Police

A woman had her BMW stolen at gunpoint Monday night in the 8700 block of First Avenue in Silver Spring. The suspects are in a DC jail.

SILVER SPRING, MD – Two Washington, D.C., men are in jail on charges they threatened to shoot a woman in Silver Spring before driving off in her BMW, officials said.

Montgomery County Police have charged Kenneth Bloomfield, 20, of the 4200 block of Southern Avenue in Southeast, Washington, D.C., and Elliot Davon Jacobs, 23, of the 4500 block of Benning Road in Southeast, Washington D.C., with the armed carjacking that happened in Silver Spring.

About 10:30 p.m. Monday, the 32-year-old female victim parked her 2003 BMW 325 Ci in the 8700 block of First Avenue. As the woman got out of her car and removed items from the vehicle, she was confronted by two suspects, later identified as Bloomfield and Jacobs.

Police say Jacobs demanded the woman’s car keys and grabbed them out of her hand. Bloomfield reportedly told the victim not to scream and that she had ten seconds to walk away or that he would “pop her.” The carjackers then fled in the BMW.

A couple hours later, the Metropolitan Police Department notified the Montgomery County Police Department that its officers had located the vehicle in Northeast, D.C., and had arrested Bloomfield and Jacobs.

Montgomery County Police investigators obtained arrest warrants for Bloomfield and Jacobs charging them with one count each of armed carjacking, armed robbery, theft of a motor vehicle, theft: $1,000-$10,000, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, first-degree assault, and second degree assault.

Bloomfield and Jacobs are being held in Washington, D.C., pending extradition to Montgomery County.
