Elderly Silver Spring Pedestrian Dies, Hit By Car in Wheaton

Montgomery County Police say a Silver Spring woman has died from injuries suffered two week ago when she was hit by a car in Wheaton.

SILVER SPRING, MD — An elderly Silver Spring woman who was critically injured Jan. 15 when she was hit by a car while crossing a Wheaton street has died, according to Montgomery County Police. Consuelo Mary Anglarill, 82, of the 2100 block of Bonnywood Lane, was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, and died Jan. 29, police say.

Investigators say a 2007 Chevrolet Impala, driven by Kevin Arias, 21, of the 10900 block of Amherst Avenue in Wheaton, was northbound on Georgia Avenue. A pedestrian, identified as Anglarill, was crossing Georgia Avenue in a western direction at Reedie Drive when she was struck by the Impala.

Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances of the collision, including what the traffic signal showed at the time Anglarill was hit and whether she was in the area of the crosswalk.
