Medical Museum Science Café: “Send for the Doctor: Researching the Life and Times of Dr. Edward Stonestreet, 19th Century Physician and Civil War Surgeon”

Step back in time as Clarence Hickey, interpretive docent for the Montgomery County Historical Society, shares the story of Dr. Edward Elisha Stonestreet of Rockville, Md. During Stonestreet’s nearly 52-year medical career, he served as a community and family physician, a Montgomery County Medical Society founder, the county’s first health officer, and a humanitarian. He also provided medical services to the Union Army during the Civil War.
