Fatal Shooting In Downtown Silver Spring Investigated By MoCo Police

Montgomery County Police found a deceased man who'd been shot inside a vehicle in downtown Silver Spring on Sunday night.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Montgomery County Police homicide detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Sunday in downtown Silver Spring, according to a release.

Officers responded around 10:17 p.m. for a welfare check in the 900 block of Bonifant St. They discovered a deceased man in a car suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, according to police.

The body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, where an autopsy will be performed in order to determine the cause and manner of death.

Police did not release the victim's identity, pending notification of the next of kin. No suspect is in custody, according to the release.
