Getting to the Fillmore Silver Spring
Patch's guide to getting to downtown's newest entertainment venue.

The will open its doors Thursday with a sold-out Mary J. Blige concert at 7 p.m. To make your trip to the music venue a little simpler and to cut down on your travel time, we've put together this quick guide:
Metro:
The Silver Spring Metrorail Station is just a few short blocks away from the venue and is open until midnight on weekdays and 3 a.m. on the weekends.ย

Planning your trip is simple. On the WMATA website in the Trip Planner area, type in the address you are starting from, your preference of either taking a Metro bus or Metro rail and the time you want to start your trip. The system will automatically list a few routes with various arrival times.

This free shuttle bus has a stop directly in front of the music venue near Colesville Road. It picks up from multiple locations in downtown every 10 minutes until about 7 p.m. Keep in mind that you'll need to find a different way to get home though.
Metro Bus Routes:
The Silver Spring area is a major hub for multiple bus routes that run alongย Colesville Road and Georgia Avenue. You can check specific routes and schedules here.
Parking:ย
If you choose to drive, there are a number of parking garages in downtown Silver Spring:
- Wayne Avenue Garage located on Georgia Avenue and Wayne Avenue: This lot is free during evenings, weekends and county holidays and costs 75 cents per hour from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays.
- Town Square Garage located on Ellsworth Drive and Fenton Street: This lot is free during evenings, weekends and county holidays and costs 75 cents per hour from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays.
- The Cameron Garage located on 8530 Cameron St.: This lot is free during evenings, weekends and county holidays, 75 cents per hour from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Friday.
