Gilders share gold leaf history
Takoma Park Rec Dept.'s Forever Young 55+ Program in partnership with Silver Spring Village Events presents Oct. 14 local gilders' talk
Ina Brousseau Marx and Allen Marx, members of the Society of Gilders, will talk about how gold leaf has been used for thousands of years to give surfaces beauty, value, honor, and longevity because of its unique qualities.
The talk is slated from 12:30-2 p.m., Wednesday, October 14, in the Lilac Room of the Takoma Park Community Center, 7500 Maple Avenue.
This is a free event, but registration is required. Registration is open and can be done in person at the community center or at 7315 New Hampshire Avenue. Persons can also register online at: www.takomaparkmd.gov/recreation.

The Marxes are longtime members of the Society of Gilders. They will show samples of their restoration work.
Copies of their book, Furniture Restoration, will be available for sale and inscribing; the authors will donate the proceeds to a local non-profit village organization.
