Homicide Victim Found By Police Investigating Silver Spring Shooting
While investigating a shooting Wednesday evening in Silver Spring, police discovered a body suffering from trauma in a nearby woods.

SILVER SPRING, MD — While investigating a shooting that occurred early Wednesday evening in Silver Spring, police discovered a body in a nearby woods, according to a police release.
Officers from the Montgomery County Department of Police's 3rd District responded around 5:56 p.m. to the 9000 block of Piney Branch Road for the report of a shooting. The officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a nearby hospital in serious but stable condition, according to police.
While searching a wooded area close to the scene of the shooting, police K9 officers found a deceased person with trauma to their body. The body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore. An autopsy will be performed to ascertain the cause and manner of the person's death, according to police.
