Shoplifting Investigation At Wheaton Dick's Sporting Goods Leads To Weapons Charge: Police
Montgomery County Police investigating a report of shoplifting in Wheaton cite juvenile for possession of illegal firearm and theft.

WHEATON, MD — A juvenile boy was arrested and charged as an adult for for illegally possessing a privately manufactured firearm, also know as a "ghost gun," according to Montgomery County Police.
Police responded around 12:57 p.m., on Tuesday for the report of shoplifting at the Dick's Sporting Goods store at 11160 Veirs Mill Road in Wheaton.
Upon arrival, the officers saw the suspects leaving the store with the stolen merchandise and followed them into the Safeway store at 11201 Georgia Ave, according to police.

After arresting and searching one of the suspects, the officers discovered a loaded Polymer 80 9mm handgun with no serial number, according to police. The officers also recovered some of the merchandise stolen from the Dick’s Sporting Goods store.
Transporting the juvenile suspect to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, the offices charged him as an adult with theft and illegal possession of firearm related charges.
