Lucky Penny Helps Silver Spring Woman Win $50K On Scratch-Off Game
A Silver Spring used her lucky penny to reveal the $50,000 top prize on a scratch-off ticket from the Maryland Lottery recently.
SILVER SPRING, MD — A Silver Spring woman got lucky recently playing the Lucky Times 10 game from the Maryland Lottery, according to a release.
A regular scratch-off game player, the woman was at work when she discovered that she'd won $50,000 on the ticket she'd just bought at a Giant grocery store in Rockville.
“I started to scream and had to shut my door. My co-workers asked me if I was OK,” she said, laughing. “I still can’t believe it.”

The 48-year-old Silver Spring resident told lottery officials that she was a big fan of the Lucking Times 10 game, having previously used her lucky penny on scratch-off tickets that turned out to be worth $100 and $500.
“This is my lucky game,” she said, in a release.

The Silver Spring woman and her husband plan to use her $50,000 windfall to renovate the condominium they nrecently purchased, according to the release.
For selling the winning scratch-off tickets, Giant #319 at 625 Hungerford Drive in Rockville will receive a $500 bonus from the Maryland Lottery.
