Man Charged With Silver Spring Cell Phone Store Burglaries
A man was charged with Silver Spring cell phone store burglaries after he returned to the store after burglarizing it, police said.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Montgomery County Police announced the arrest of a Beltsville man for the burglary of a White Oak cell phone store. Aly Badara Sylla, 26, was arrested when he returned to the store a few hours after committing the burglary.
At about 1:51 a.m. Monday, police responded to the T-Mobile store at 11203 New Hampshire Ave. for the report of a commercial burglary alarm at the business. Responding officers discovered that the front glass window to the store had been shattered by an unknown object, but determined that no entry had been made to the business and that nothing had been stolen, police said.
Officers who had responded to the attempted burglary at the T-Mobile store discovered that the Sprint store at 11213 New Hampshire Ave. had also been burglarized, police said. A Sprint employee was notified of the burglary to the store and provided officers with surveillance photographs of the suspect.

As officers reviewed the surveillance photographs from the Sprint store, the officers saw a man walking toward the Sprint store who matched the description of the suspect in the photographs.
Officers stopped that individual and identified him as Sylla, police said. Officers observed broken glass attached to Sylla’s clothing and located all of the stolen property from the Sprint store inside of Sylla’s coat pockets, police said.

Sylla was arrested and admitted to the burglary during a police interview. Sylla was transported to the Central Processing Unit where he was charged with the attempted burglary of the T-Mobile store and the burglary of the Sprint store. He is currently being held on a $2,500 bond.
