Man Killed After Car Crashes Into Median, Tree In Silver Spring: Police

SILVER SPRING, MD — A man died over the weekend after striking a median and crashing into a tree in Silver Spring.

Montgomery County Police said first responders were called to the scene at the 11800 block of New Hampshire Avenue on Saturday, just after 4:30 a.m.

At the scene, investigators determined the man hit a center median with his 2010 Mercedes in the overnight hours before crashing into a tree.

The driver was pronounced dead at an area hospital.

Authorities have not identified the man or said what may have prompted the fatal crash.

An investigation into the collision remains ongoing.
