Man With Knife Carjacks Vehicle At Drive-Up ATM Of Silver Spring Bank
Montgomery County Police released a surveillance video in connection with the Jan. 4 armed carjacking at a Silver Spring bank.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Montgomery County Police detectives are asking the public's help in identify suspect wanted in an armed carjacking at the drive-up ATM of a Silver Spring bank, according to a release.
Around 9 p.m., on Jan. 4, police responded to the Truist Bank Drive-Thru in the 12000 block of Cherry Hill Road for the report of an armed carjacking. An investigation revealed that a man armed with a knife approached the adult male victim, who was standing next to his car at the ATM, according to police. The suspect demanded money from the victim, who backed away. The suspect then entered the car and drove off.
Police described the suspect as a Black man, who was about 30-years old with a medium build. He stood 6-foot-2 to 6-foot 3 inches tall and weighed 180 to 190 pounds, according to police. At the time of the incident, he was wearing an orange hood and a medium-length gray coat.

Police released a surveillance video of the suspect on Wednesday. Anyone who recognizes the man in the video or who has information about this case is asked to call the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070 or 240-773-TIPS. Information can also be submitted to Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of the suspect. Tips may be submitted anonymously.
