Man Robbed In Downtown Silver Spring, Thieves Caught On Video: PD
One suspect assaulted the victim with a screwdriver while the second suspect stole his property, police said.
SILVER SPRING, MD — Montgomery County police are searching for two people they say assaulted and robbed a man in downtown Silver Spring this month.
Authorities responded to reports of an armed robbery in the 1200 block of East-West Highway around 5:17 p.m. on July 20. The victim told police that he was walking outside when two male suspects approached him. One suspect assaulted him with a screwdriver while the second suspect stole his property, according to officials. He was not injured in the alleged attack.
Officers later located a screwdriver in a nearby trash can, police said.

A witness took cellphone video of the incident, which police have released in hopes that the public can identify the two suspects. The footage can be found below:
