Murder Charge Filed In Double Fatal Shooting With Silver Spring Victim

WASHINGTON, DC — Homicide detectives from Washington, D.C. arrested a suspect in the double fatal shooting that occurred on July 22 in Northwest. Police identified the victims as 19-year-old Zion Hollingsworth-Hayes of Silver Spring and 29-year-old Luke Whitaker of Northwest, D.C.

Officers responded around 9:53 p.m., on July 22, for the report of a shooting in the 1400 block of Girard Street, Northwest. One of the victims was found at that location and the second was located a short time later in the 1400 block of Fairmont Street, Northwest.

D.C. Fire and EMS personnel declared both Hollingsworth-Hayes and Whitaker dead at the scene, according police. The two were later taken to the Office of the Chief Medical examiner.

Acting on a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force on Friday arrested 33-year-old Jeremiah Jordan of Southeast, D.C. Jordan was taken to the homicide branch of the Metropolitan Police Department and charged with first degree murder while armed-premeditated.
