SILVER SPRING, MD — Montgomery County police are asking the public's help identifying an individual they believe is behind seven residential burglaries in Silver Spring.

These burglaries occurred in the Chelsea Heights and Seven Oaks-Evanswood neighborhoods in the early morning hours of Saturday, Sept. 22 and the night of Sunday, Sept. 22, police said. The suspect allegedly entered the homes through unlocked windows and doors and primarily took cash. Some of the homes were occupied.

Saturday, Sept. 21

  • 2:36 a.m. in the 100 block of Noyes Court

Sunday, Sept. 22

  • 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the 100 block of Springvale Lane
  • 9:00 to 10:00 p.m. in the 8400 block of Cedar St.
  • 10:00 p.m. in the 700 block of Dartmouth Ave.
  • 11:13 p.m. in the 100 block of Ellsworth Heights St.
  • 11:30 p.m. (attempt burglary) in the 100 block of Ellsworth Heights St.
  • After 8:00 p.m. in the 100 block of Ellsworth Heights St.

Police released surveillance videos of the suspect, which are embedded at the bottom of this post.

They ask that anyone with information about these burglaries or the suspect call 240-773-6870. Anonymous tipsters can call the county's Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). Crime Solvers is offering a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to an arrest.

Residents in the area are also asked to review home surveillance video and to contact detectives if they believe the suspect was captured on their security system.
