SILVER SPRING, MD — Police vehicle and body camera footage from a fatal Silver Spring shooting was released Tuesday by the Maryland Attorney General. The footage shows the moments leading up to police fatally shooting a man, identified as 27-year-old Osman Sesay, during a traffic stop in the early hours of Dec. 29.
Police say there was a shooting reported earlier, at about 4:15 a.m., and the suspect was believed to have left in a white Mercedes Benz. When police saw a car matching that description, they pulled it over.
Police ordered the people in the car to put their hands out the window, and then told the driver to reach from the outside and open the car door. Video shows the passenger, Sesay, start to open his passenger door. Officers yelled at Sesay to stay in the car.
