UPDATE: Police Search for Man Involved in Domestic Dispute

Update, 5:48 p.m.: Montgomery County Police have not located a man who, police say, was involved in a domestic dispute and believed to be in the woods in the Northwest Branch between Piney Branch Road and I-495 in Silver Spring.

The man made some threats to kill his wife, police said, adding that they think the man may be armed but can't confirm the type of weapon.

Police are working with the man's wife to determine his whereabouts and the details of the dispute.

Police are asking anyone with information about the man is asked to call the Montgomery County Police at 301-279-8000.

Update, 4:38 p.m.: A Maryland State Police helicopter is en route to the wooded area of the Northwest Branch to assist Montgomery County Police search for a man involved in a domestic dispute.

Original post, 4:14 p.m.: A search is under way in the Northwest Branch between Piney Branch Road and I-495 in Silver Spring for a man who was involved in a domestic dispute, according to a spokesperson for the Montgomery County Police Department.

Police received a call at 2:32 p.m. today. This was the second call police received since Friday regarding the man.

The man needs to go to the hospital for emergency evaluation, police said.
