Rapper J. Cole Makes MoCo Pit Stop To Promote New Album

The Fayetteville rapper and producer stopped off in Silver Spring as part of his nationwide tour to promote his new album, "The Fall-Off."

SILVER SPRING, MD — Rapper J. Cole, popularly known for hits such as "She Knows" and "No Role Modelz," made an impromptu pit stop in Silver Spring late Wednesday.

Fans of the rapper were given a once-in-a-lifetime listening experience as a select few were picked to ride with him in his newly refurbished Honda Civic and listen to his new album, "The Fall-Off," which was released Feb. 6.

The musician is on a nationwide tour to promote his new album. But, unlike the promotional events of the past, where artists set up shop in record stores or malls to sign merchandise, J. Cole is taking it back to the days when mixtapes were sold out of car trunks.

To date, the tour has included stops in Atlanta, Virginia and Washington, D.C., where he coordinated with Howard University staffers to set up a safe meetup with students and fans.

The Grammy Award-winning artist has indicated "The Fall-Off" will be his final studio album as he turns his attention to music production and developing new talents.
