'Real Housewives of Potomac': New Cast Members Coming?

Media reports say Bravo's "Real Housewives of Potomac" will be renewed for another season, and may add ladies. Who would you replace?

POTOMAC, MD — Media reports are speculating that “The Real Housewives of Potomac” will add new ladies to the frothy mix when the reality series starts its second season.

The latest addition to Bravo TV’s look inside the lives of privileged women premiered Jan. 17. The series about an exclusive suburb of Washington, D.C., brought in the highest ratings ever for a show in the Housewives franchise.

The show follows socialite and single mom Gizelle Bryant, international model and TV personality Katie Rost, society grand dame Karen Huger, social butterfly Charrisse Jackson-Jordan, publicist and single mom Robyn Dixon, and restaurateur Ashley Darby.

Variety says the eighth show in the Housewives saga nabbed 2.54 million viewers, thanks in part to its lead-in from “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.”

And the apparent success of RHOP means it will likely be picked up for another season. A new episode from season one airs this Sunday, March 6.

Bravo executives aren’t commenting, but The Washington Post says that the network is chatting with women about joining the RHOP cast. Whether that’s to add to the cast, or replace some of the initial members, isn’t clear.

Reality Tea reports that the cast members most in jeopardy of continuing with the series are: Charrisse Jackson Jordan, whose troubled marriage may be wearing on fans; Robyn Dixon, who lives with her former husband; and Katie Rost, who has been deemed boring by some viewers as she pursues an engagement ring.

Producer and host Andy Cohen said Potomac is an unusual choice for a Real Housewives location – it’s not the big city that other incarnations of the series have been set in, such as New York, Atlanta or Orange County, CA.

But, the strong women who live in Potomac have such a sense of themselves and the place that it felt right.

“They’re very affluent, they have strong ties to the community, they’re very into etiquette,” he said in a Bravo video.
