Seminary Road Bridge Informational Meeting Scheduled For Silver Spring Residents

Residents are invited to attend an informational meeting Aug. 15 on the rehabilitation of the bridge on Seminary Road over I-495.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Residents are invited to attend an informational meeting Aug. 15 on the rehabilitation of the bridge on Seminary Road over I-495 in Silver Spring.

Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) project staff will answer any questions before work is started on the bridge. The bridge is safe for the public to travel on, but repairs are needed to extend the life of the bridge, officials say.

Work is scheduled to begin later this year and includes strengthening the bridge supports and replacing the bridge's riding surface.

Maps and other project exhibits will be on display for public viewing beginning at 6 p.m., and representatives from MDOT SHA will be available to answer project-related questions. Residents may arrive at any time from 6-8 p.m.

The meeting will be held in the Great Room South at the Silver Spring Civic Building located at 1 Veterans Plaza. Parking is available at Garage 61, Town Square Garage and Garage 60 and Wayne-Ellsworth Garage.
