SILVER SPRING, MD — A ride share driver from Silver Spring made the right decision recently when he stopped at a local gas station to play the Maryland Lottery, according to a release. A regular lottery player, the man bought a Big Money instant ticket that turned out to be worth $50,000.

The Montgomery County resident bought two $5 scratch-off games at the Beltway Shell gas station at 9510 Georgia Ave. in Silver Spring. Winning $5 on one of the tickets, the man used that money to buy a Big Money scratch-off. When he looked at the prize check area, he discovered he'd won $50,000.

“I was so nervous, I left the store so that I could scratch the ticket in the car,” the married father of two told lottery officials. “I couldn’t believe it when I actually saw the $50,000 prize on the ticket.”
