Silver Spring Man Killed In 2-Vehicle Crash Involving A Metrobus
A 25-year-old Silver Spring man died Sunday night from injuries he received in a two-car collision involving a Metrobus.
SILVER SPING, MD — A 25-year-old Silver Spring man died Sunday night from injuries he received in a two-car collision involving a Metrobus, according to a police release.
Ovidio Aroldo Gonzalez Cortez was driving his white 2006 Chevrolet Express 2500 on northbound New Hampshire Avenue around 8:52 p.m., when he crossed the median and struck a blue 2008 Toyota Corolla that was traveling south, according to police. The Corolla then hit an Metrobus that was also in the southbound lanes.
While he drivers of the Corolla and bus were taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for minor injuries, Gonzalez Cortez was pronounced dead on the scene, according to police.
