Silver Spring Man Killed In Sunday Morning Crash in Wheaton-Glenmont

Montgomery County Police identified a 37-year-old Silver Spring Man as the victim in Sunday's fatal collision in the Wheaton-Glenmont area.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Montgomery County Police identified 37-year-old Luis Abraham Ayala Ayala of Rockville as the driver killed in a single vehicle collision early Sunday morning in the Wheaton-Glenmont area, according to a release.

MCDP officers and units from Montgomery County Fire and Rescue responded around 1:49 a.m., to the area of Georgia Avenue and Kayson Street for the report of a single vehicle collision.

A preliminary investigation revealed Ayala was driving northbound on Georgia Avenue when he lost control of his white 2010 Nissan Sentra, which struck a curb and continued northbound on Georgia Avenue. After striking several trees and a utility pole, the Nissan came to a stop in the roadway, according to the release. Ayala was pronounced dead on the scene.
