Silver Spring Woman, 68, Dies Following 2-Vehicle Collision: Police

A 68-year-old Silver Spring woman died from injuries she received when her 2007 Nissan Altima was struck by another car on Aug. 5.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Gity Karamouz, 68, of Silver Spring died on Monday from injuries she received Aug. 5 in a two-vehicle collision that occurred in the Colesville area, according to a police release.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue units responded around 4:35 p.m., for the report of a two-vehicle collision that had just occurred in the area of Randolph Road and Hawkesbury Lane.

A preliminary investigation determined that Karamouz was trying to make a lefthand turn into a parking lot in the 500 block of Randolph Road, when her light green 2007 Nissan Altima was struck by a red 2017 Honda Civic traveling westbound on Randolph Road, according to Montgomery County Police.

Karamouz was taken to an area hospital for treatment, but she succumbed to her injuries on Monday. The driver and passenger of the Honda Civic were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
