Silver Spring Woman Dies After Being Hit By Car In DC Parking Garage
A 68-year-old Silver Spring woman died from injuries she received after being struck by a car inside a D.C. parking garage.

WASHINGTON, DC — A 68-year-old Silver Spring woman died from injuries she received after being struck by a car as she was standing in a Washington, D.C. parking garage on Thursday afternoon, according to police.
Investigators determined that a woman driving a 2011 Audi Q5 around 12:42 p.m., was attempting to make a three-point turn in a garage located in the 3800 block of Reservoir Road, Northwest, when the car accelerated toward a wall. Trying to avoid hitting the wall, the woman turned the vehicle toward the valet station area where several people were waiting for their vehicles. The Audi struck the garage wall and six pedestrians, according to police.
Five women and one man were taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for their injuries. Although all life-saving efforts were made, one of the women, 68-year-old Jewel Regina Bazilio-Bellegarde of Silver Spring, succumbed to her injuries and died, according to police. The other five victims were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
