Stabbing Outside Silver Spring Deli Leads To Assault Charge: Police
Police say that a Silver Spring man pepper-sprayed and stabbed an employee outside Max's Kosher Café on Thursday afternoon.

SILVER SPRING, VA — Montgomery County police arrested 32-year-old Bryant Whack of Silver Spring in connection with a stabbing that occurred outside Max’s Kosher Café on Thursday afternoon, according to a police release.
Police say that Whack was panhandling inside the deli located at 2300 block of University Blvd. around 12:38 p.m., when he grabbed the tip jar and walked outside.
One of the employees followed Whack outside and confronted him. Whack then pepper sprayed the victim, stabbed them, and then left the area, according to police. The victim was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

Following the incident, police issued a lookout with Whack's description.
Officers from the 4th District Community Action Team arrested Whack, after spotting him behind a laundromat in the 11300 block of Georgia Ave.

Whack is being held without bound at the Central Processing Unit, where he was charged with first-degree assault.
