Strong-Arm Carjacking Suspects Arrested Saturday In Bowie: Police
Bowie City Police arrested two teens early Saturday morning who were wanted in Montgomery County for a strong-arm carjacking.
SILVER SPRING, MD — Bowie City Police arrested two Upper Marlboro teens in connection with a strong-arm carjacking that occurred late Friday night in Silver Spring.
Officers from the Montgomery County Department of Police responded around 10:28 p.m. to the 2000 block of Coleridge Drive for the report of a carjacking that had just occurred, according to police.
Investigators determined that the 77-year-old victim was approached by two suspects as he was exiting his gray 2018 Toyota Corolla. The two demanded that the victim turnover his wallet and car keys, according to police. The suspects then hit the victim before driving off in his car.

Bowie City Police responded around 2:58 a.m. on Saturday to the 15600 block of East Haven Court in Bowie for the report of three people trying to break into a car. While the officers took one of the suspects, later identified as a 17-year-old, into custody, the two other suspects drove off in the gray 2018 Toyota Corolla that had been stolen hours earlier in Silver Spring.
Following a brief chase, the two suspects crashed the Toyota Corolla and attempted to flee on foot, but they were quickly taken into custody without incident, according to police.

Investigators determined that the 15-year-old suspect, who was driving the car when it crashed, was one of the two suspects involved in the strong-arm carjacking earlier in the evening.
The 15-year-old suspect is being held at the Juvenile Detention Facility in connection with an unrelated incident, according to police. The 17-year-old is being held without bond in the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.
