Strong-Arm Robbery Of Silver Spring Convenience Store Investigated

Montgomery County Police are looking for a man who shoved a convenience store cashier and took money from an open cash register.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Montgomery County Police are asking the public's help in identifying a suspect in the Dec. 6, 2023 strong-arm robbery at a Silver Spring convenience store.

Officers were dispatched around 8:59 p.m. to the Dollar General in the 13800 block of Outlet Drive for the report of a commercial robbery.

A preliminary investigation determined that the cashier was conducting a transaction with a customer, when the suspect shoved them out of the way and grabbed an undisclosed amount of money from the open cash register. The suspect then left the store.

On Friday, police released surveillance photos showing the man they identified as the suspect in the case.

Police described the suspect as a 45 to 65-year-old white man, who was 5-foot-9 to 5-foot-11 in height. He was wearing a gray hat, a gray zip-up hoodie, jeans, and white shoes.
