SILVER SPRING, MD — Montgomery County Police detectives released a surveillance video Thursday in connection with a robbery that occurred Sept. 9 at a Silver Spring Foot Locker, according to a release.

Officers responded around 12:30 p.m., for the report of a robbery at the Foot Locker store located 8661 Colesville Road.

A preliminary investigation revealed that an employee was ringing up a pair of sneakers a man said he wanted to buy, when the man grabbed a pair of scissors from the counter and threaten the employee with them, according to police. The man then took off the shoes he was wearing and put on the new sneakers. The store manager confronted the man as he tried to leave the store, but the man threatened him with the scissors and fled, according to the release.

Police described the suspect as a 25- to 30-year-old Black man, who stood about 6-feet tall, with a medium build and braided locs. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a light-colored North Face hoodie, light-colored skin jeans with paint stains, according to police.
